My Story
My path into photography started with a love for technology and a second-hand DSLR. That camera opened up a creative side of me I hadn’t fully explored, and it quickly became more than just a hobby.
Working in sound engineering and event promotion in London, I was surrounded by music, energy, and people trying to make something from nothing. I started photographing local gigs and working with small artists, helping them build their image through visuals that felt as real and raw as their sound. That’s where I found my style: close-up, candid, and focused on the atmosphere as much as the subject.
Outside the city, I always had a deep connection to nature, growing up in rural southern England. Over time, I developed a strong interest in wildlife and landscape photography, which added a unique depth and balance to my work.
Travelling after university, capturing everything from Iceland’s broad landscapes to Asia’s urban sprawl, I felt overwhelmed by the photographic opportunity. However, even then, I would always gravitate to portraiture. A basic mirrorless camera and a single 50mm lens taught me that sometimes limitations lead to the most honest work.
Now living in Canberra, I feel like everything has come together. The city has a growing creative scene with real potential, and I’m excited to bring my global experience and grounded approach to the people and events shaping it.
